Edisto Island is the home to about 26 sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

When you take the Pink Van Tour (we were dubbed this nickname for obvious reasons), you will be travelling back into a bit of the American colonies’ earliest history.

Our family has been a part of Edisto Island for over 200 years, and we are happy to show it off. The stories that we share with you have been passed down through generations of proud Edistonians to me and now to you.

The tour lasts about 2 1/2 hours, and I promise this to you – time does fly when you’re having fun, and we’ll be done before you know it. So entertaining (and authentic) that you’ll want to take the tour again just in case you missed something the first time! That’s fine with us – we understand – and will be happy to oblige you. (It’s the southern hospitality thing, you know.)

You will come away from Edisto Island with a truly intimate touch of island life as we have known it for centuries.

PLUS, keeping true to our islander heritage, during the tour we’ll serve you real southern refreshments – iced tea or pink lemonade with homemade (by us) benne’ seed wafers ( be sure to ask us about the history of benne’ seed).

On a personal note – we can hardly imagine a happier way to make a living than by riding around in a pretty pink van for a few hours a day, meeting great people, and teaching them about Edisto Island and its rich culture and history.

It’s hard to believe we actually get paid to do this!
